Improper and Reduced Fractions This is another example of the importance of distinguishing the size from the count of a measurement. The size of the measurement is fourths - it takes 4 of that size to make a whole. The numerator represents the count of that size. Dividing by 4 tells you how many groups of 4 (how many wholes) you can get out of 15 fourths. |
